Bubbi Morthens

Bubbi Morthens is an Icelandic singer-songwriter, guitarist, and lyricist who has been one of the most influential voices in Icelandic rock since the late 1970s. He began writing and performing music at a young age and became known both as a solo artist and through bands. His lyrics have often addressed society, working life, and personal experience.

Morthens was a member of Utangarðsmenn and later formed Egó, alongside a long solo career and work with several other groups. His releases span rock, blues, reggae, folk music, poetry, and other forms. His sustained work as a songwriter, performer, and writer has produced a large and varied catalogue of songs.
