Richard Gillis

Richard Gillis is a Canadian trumpeter and a professor at the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba, where he has taught since 1991. He is artistic director of the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra.

He has recorded eight albums with Bjorn Thoroddsen and performed with him in Iceland, Canada, and the United States, including at Lincoln Center in 2006 and with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in 2017.
