Kristján Eldjárn

Kristján Eldjárn was an Icelandic classical guitarist and teacher. He began studying guitar at a young age at the Reykjavík School of Music Education and the Reykjavík Music School, studied with, among others, Eyþór Þorláksson and Páll Eyjólfsson, and completed his final examination in classical guitar at Tónskóli Sigursveins in 1996.

Eldjárn worked as an instrumentalist and taught at music schools for a period. He performed in Iceland’s varied musical life and had a particular ability to share classical guitar with students and audiences. The Kristján Eldjárn Guitarist Memorial Fund maintains his name and memory.
